<div itemprop="description">BRODEUR, Gerald Maurice- Passed away peacefully after a 12 year battle with COPD, on Jan 12, 2013 at Garden City Manor. Gerald was in his 62nd year. <br>Much loved step-son to Shirley Brodeur for over 49 years. <br>Predeceased by his parents; Beloved son to the late Lucia (1962) and Alcide (1989) Brodeur. <br>Survived by his brothers and sisters; Richard (and the late Brenda 2011) Brodeur, Jean (Darlene) Brodeur, Diane (Howard) Kochan, Paul (Kathy) Brodeur and Denise Brodeur (aka his card partner). <br>He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. <br>The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to: cousin Bruce Kelly for his many Timmy's coffees, movies and car rides; cousin Tom Thurlow for his support for Gerald and the entire family which included many card games; and the staff and volunteers with CCAC and at Garden City Manor for thier care and compassion. <br>Gerald enjoyed watching Jerry Seinfeld and English Summer Wines on TV. However he LOVED his Montreal Canadians ! <br>' GO Canadians GO !! ' <br>Despite the fact that he was special needs, Gerald was trained as a wood worker at Arc Industry and Ntec in Port Robinson. He went on to work at Sparkle Pallets for almost 12 years after which he had to leave due to his struggle with COPD. He will be deeply missed. <br>Cremation has taken place. Gerald's family will receive visitors at BUTLER FUNERAL HOME- DOWNTOWN CHAPEL- 33 Duke St. St.Catharines 905-684-2334 on Friday Jan 18 starting at 11:00 a.m. A service to celebrate his life will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date. <br>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Lung Association or Special Needs services will be appreciated by his family. <br>Share memories on-line at www.butlerduke.ca</div>
